With these reinforced engine mounts you secure the engine of your BMW E36, E36 Compact, E46, Z3 or Z4 a good deal more firmly. They have been developed for the load that a sporty car with a lot of power puts on the engine mounting. The engine moves less when you accelerate, lift off and shift, and the mounts last longer than the original ones.

If you are working on a drift car, a track car or a road car with a big engine, sagging original mounts are often one of the first weak points. This set solves that with a steel housing and a sturdy, hard insert.

Installation and delivery

The mounts go in place of the original engine mounts. Support the engine with a jack and a block of wood under the sump or with an engine support beam, undo the old mounts and fit the new ones. When tightening, check that the engine sits straight and tighten all bolts according to BMW’s specifications.

Bear in mind that stiffer mounts transmit more vibration to the body than sagging original ones. On a drift or track car that is exactly what you want; on a daily driver you mainly notice it at idle. Once you have fitted reinforced engine mounts, also take a look at the gearbox mounts straight away, because they have to deal with the same forces.
