The AST Bolt-in Roll Cage BMW E34 Saloon V2 is a full roll cage for the BMW 5 Series E34 with 4-door saloon bodywork. This Bolt-in E34 Saloon V2 builds on the base cage and adds front reinforcement bars running to the bulkhead, so the entire front section of the car is integrated into the structure.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers looking for more rigidity at the front without going straight to a complete set of bars.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The six foot plates are first welded to the bodyshell, after which the structure is bolted onto them. Plan the front bars together with the dashboard, as they run all the way to the bulkhead.

With the front bars running to the bulkhead, the nose of the E34 becomes part of the cage instead of a separate piece of sheet metal.

What is the difference from the V1?

The Bolt-in E34 Saloon V2 has the same main hoop with backstays as the V1, but adds the front reinforcement bars running to the bulkhead. That means a gain in rigidity at the front.

Does the cage fit a car with headlining?

AST builds this version for a roof without a sunroof and without headlining; there is no option to choose when ordering. The cage itself is, however, custom-designed for each car following a laser scan.
