AST Removable Roll Cage BMW E30 Coupé V3

The AST Removable Roll Cage BMW E30 Coupé V3 is a full roll cage for the BMW E30 3 Series with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Removable Roll Cage E30 Coupé V3 has everything the V2 has and adds door bars, so there is also a tubular structure between the occupants and the body panels at the sides. This version is built for the rear-wheel-drive E30 and does not fit the all-wheel-drive 325iX.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who want side protection because they drive close to the wall or close to each other.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The six foot plates are welded to the bodyshell, after which the cage is bolted onto them. With the V3, check beforehand whether the door card and the seat belt mounting clear the door bars; the trim often has to be partly removed.

With door bars on the left and right, the V3 is the first version that also gives you real protection from the side.

AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that it fits your E30 Coupé exactly. The V3 is the point at which the cage goes from a stiffening component to a fully fledged safety structure, because the door bars cover the weakest side of a coupé. For competition use, this is usually the minimum level of equipment organisers expect; always check the regulations of your own organiser.

Can I still get in and out easily with door bars fitted?

The Removable Roll Cage E30 Coupé V3 has tubes in the door opening, so getting in takes more effort than in a standard car. A bucket seat with side support and a good seating position make it perfectly manageable in practice.

Does this cage fit an E30 with all-wheel drive?

No. This version is designed for the rear-wheel-drive E30 Coupé. Other AST versions are available for the all-wheel-drive 325iX.

What if my car has a sunroof?

When ordering, please state whether your car has a sunroof, and AST will tailor the roll cage accordingly.
