The BC Racing DS coilover kit GT-R R33 R34 (part number D-08-DS-DS) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 (BCNR33) and GT-R R34 (BNR34), model years 1995 to 2001. The spring rate is 8 kg/mm front and 5 kg/mm rear.

A GT-R that goes on track deserves suspension made for it. The DS series is BC Racing’s track-focused kit, with a digressive piston that damps more firmly between 0 and 50 mm/s. That keeps the body of the R33 or R34 GT-R calmer under braking and on turn-in.

You set the damping in 30 clicks, compression and rebound simultaneously. You set the ride height independently of the spring preload, the damper body is satin chrome and a concave lower lock ring keeps the height in place. BC Racing makes this DS for both the GT-R R33 and the GT-R R34.

Fitting and delivery

The DS replaces the original dampers and springs of the GT-R and is made specifically for the R33 and R34 GT-R. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic and then having the wheel alignment set to the new ride height. Delivery time: 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If BC Racing temporarily does not have the DS in stock, you can still order it and we will let you know when it is in.

Does the BC Racing DS for the GT-R R33 R34 also fit a rear-wheel-drive Skyline?

No. BC Racing only lists this kit for the all-wheel-drive GT-R R33 (BCNR33) and GT-R R34 (BNR34). There are separate kits for the R33 GTS and the R34 GTS.

What is the difference between the BC Racing DS and ER for the Nissan Skyline GT-R?

The DS is 1-way, the ER 2-way. On the DS you set compression and rebound together, on the ER each separately in 30 clicks, with an external reservoir. For the GT-R, the DS has 8/5 kg/mm and the ER 9/7 kg/mm.

Is noise from the BC Racing DS coilover kit GT-R R33 R34 covered by the warranty?

No. With the DS coilover kit GT-R R33 R34, as with the other track-focused series, noise is not covered by the warranty. There is, however, a 1 year warranty on manufacturing defects.
