BMW E60 5 Series RWD (03-10) BC Racing DS coilover kit 6/4.5 kg/mm

The BC Racing DS coilover kit E60 (part number I-09-DS-DN) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 5 Series E60 with rear-wheel drive, model years 2003 to 2010. The spring rate is 6 kg/mm front and 4.5 kg/mm rear.

The DS series is the track-focused line from BC Racing, here in the version for the 5 Series E60 with rear-wheel drive. This kit is not intended for the xDrive versions.

The digressive piston damps more firmly at low piston speeds (0 to 50 mm/s), so the E60 rolls and dives less under hard turn-in and braking. You adjust the damping in 30 clicks, you set the ride height independently of the spring preload, and front and rear the kit uses rubber top mounts or the original mounting. The satin chrome damper body is the hallmark of the DS.

Fitting and delivery

This kit only fits the E60 with rear-wheel drive, so not an xDrive. The DS is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs; we recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic. After adjusting the ride height, a wheel alignment is required. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If BC Racing temporarily has the kit out of stock, you can still order and we will let you know when it will be delivered.

The DS coilover kit E60 has a digressive piston and is track-focused, the BR has a linear piston and is intended for the road with the occasional track day. Both have 6/4.5 kg/mm and 30 clicks.

Does the BC Racing DS coilover kit fit an E60 xDrive or an E61 Touring?

No for the xDrive: BC Racing UK only releases this kit for the E60 with rear-wheel drive. For the E61 Touring the fitment has not been confirmed, because BC Racing UK does not mention it for this application; for a Touring, please contact us before ordering.

Is noise covered by the warranty of the BC Racing DS for the E60?

No, noise from track use is not covered by the warranty. BC Racing gives a 1 year warranty on manufacturing defects.
