The big brake kit Polo 6KV with knuckles is the V-Maxx version for the Volkswagen Polo Classic and Polo Variant (6KV) where the original steering knuckle is not suitable for the brake kit. You get 290 mm two-piece brake discs, 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium and, in addition, new steering knuckles, wheel bearings and wheel hubs.

The kit already fits behind 15 inch wheels and is suitable for versions from 40 to 81 kW with rear disc or drum brakes.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer. Sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters are included in the kit, and with the TÜV certificate according to §19.3 the kit is approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied. Whereas the standard kit 20 VW290 06 only fits a suitable original steering knuckle, this big brake kit Polo 6KV with knuckles is supplied including new steering knuckles, wheel bearings and wheel hubs. Never use wheel cleaner on the brake kit, as it attacks the aluminium; mild soap is sufficient. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Optionally available: V-Maxx Steelflex brake hoses 460 mm (set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Yes, definitely. A Polo with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 290 mm discs and 4-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.
