The MTS Street Passat B3/B4 Gold is a height-adjustable coilover kit from MTS Technik for the Volkswagen Passat B3/B4, model years 1988 to 1997. Street is the standard setup from MTS Technik: a good balance between comfort and firmness, for daily use and the occasional track day or drift day.
On the Gold version, the steel parts have a yellow zinc coating and the aluminium parts are black anodised.

Fitting and delivery
The MTS Street Passat B3/B4 Gold replaces the original dampers and springs and fits on the original mounting points.
- The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
- When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
- After lowering, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.

Frequently asked questions
Does this kit also fit a four-wheel-drive (4Motion) version?
No. The MTS Street Passat B3/B4 Gold is not suitable for the four-wheel-drive versions. MTS Technik has separate sets for that.
What is the difference between Comfort, Street and Stance?
All versions use the same dampers; the difference lies in the Eibach springs and the lowering range: Comfort (40 and 60 N/mm), Street (70 and 50 N/mm) and Stance (60 and 80 N/mm). Comfort is the softest. Street is the standard. Stance is the firmest and the lowest.
What is the difference between Gold and Inox?
Gold has steel damper bodies with a yellow zinc coating, Inox has stainless steel damper bodies. Inox is more resistant to road salt and moisture and therefore costs more. Otherwise, the kits are identical.
