The MTS Stance E61 Touring Gold is a height-adjustable coilover kit from MTS Technik for the BMW E61 Touring, model years 2004 to 2010. Stance is the lowest and firmest setup from MTS Technik, for those who want the wheel tight under the wheel arch.

On the Gold version, the steel parts have a yellow zinc coating and the aluminium parts are black anodised.

Note for the MTS Stance E61 Touring Gold: not suitable for versions with four-wheel drive (xDrive). Only for cars without EDC (electronic damping control). Axle load: maximum 1070 kg front and maximum 1300 kg rear; check your car’s vehicle type plate.

Fitting and delivery

The MTS Stance E61 Touring Gold replaces the original dampers and springs and fits on the original mounting points.

• The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
• When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
• After lowering, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.

Frequently asked questions

Does this kit also fit a four-wheel-drive (xDrive) version?

No. The MTS Stance E61 Touring Gold is made for the rear-wheel-drive versions.

What is the difference between Street and Stance?

All versions use the same dampers; the difference lies in the Eibach springs and the lowering range: Street (70 N/mm) and Stance (90 N/mm). Street is the standard. Stance is the firmest and the lowest.

What is the difference between Gold and Inox?

Gold has steel damper bodies with a yellow zinc coating, Inox has stainless steel damper bodies. Inox is more resistant to road salt and moisture and therefore costs more. Otherwise, the kits are identical.
