The MTS Street E65 Gold is a height-adjustable coilover kit from MTS Technik for the BMW 7-series E65, E66 and E67, model years 2001 to 2009. Street is the standard setup from MTS Technik: a good balance between comfort and firmness, for daily use and the occasional track day or drift day.

On the Gold version, the steel parts have a yellow zinc coating and the aluminium parts are black anodised.

Note: only for cars without EDC (electronic damping control). Only for cars without electronically controlled damping. Axle load: maximum 1295 kg front and maximum 1410 kg rear; check your car’s vehicle type plate.

Also suitable for versions with M-Technik (M package). Fitting is also possible on cars with electronically adjustable damping; that system must then be disabled. Fitting is also possible on cars with level control (NIVO) or factory air suspension; the air suspension system must then be removed first. Sometimes extra original parts are needed for this.

Fitting and delivery

The MTS Street E65 Gold replaces the original dampers and springs and fits on the original mounting points.

• The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
• When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
• Cars with NIVO require additional original parts for the rear axle: 2x top mount (33526779611), 2x upper spring seat (33536753765), 2x support cup (33526758283), 2x top plate (33526779415).
• After lowering, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.

What is the difference between Gold and Inox?

Gold has steel damper bodies with a yellow zinc coating, Inox has stainless steel damper bodies. Inox is more resistant to road salt and moisture and therefore costs more. Otherwise, the kits are identical.
