The MTS Stance A8 D2 Inox is a height-adjustable coilover kit from MTS Technik for the Audi A8 D2, model years 1994 to 2005. Stance is the lowest and firmest setup from MTS Technik, for those who want the wheel tight under the wheel arch.

On the Inox version, the damper bodies are made of stainless steel, so road salt and moisture don’t stand a chance.

Note for the MTS Stance A8 D2 Inox: axle load: maximum 1380 kg front and maximum 1230 kg rear; check your car’s vehicle type plate.

Fitting is also possible on cars with level control (NIVO) or factory air suspension; the air suspension system must then be removed first. Sometimes extra original parts are needed for this.

Fitting and delivery

The MTS Stance A8 D2 Inox replaces the original dampers and springs and fits on the original mounting points.

• The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
• When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
• Tip for adjusting the rear: remove the height adjuster, set the spring seat to the new position and refit the adjuster.
• After lowering, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.

What is the difference between Street and Stance?

All versions use the same dampers; the difference lies in the Eibach springs and the lowering range: Street (150 and 82.2 N/mm) and Stance (200 and 82.2 N/mm). Street is the standard. Stance is the firmest and the lowest.

What is the difference between Gold and Inox?

Gold has steel damper bodies with a yellow zinc coating, Inox has stainless steel damper bodies. Inox is more resistant to road salt and moisture and therefore costs more. Otherwise, the kits are identical.
