This E46 hidden hydraulic handbrake fits exactly where your original handbrake sits. From the outside, the interior looks almost standard, while you have a fully fledged hydraulic handbrake within easy reach. Ideal for drifting and rallying, but also a clever solution for a car you drive every day and want to be able to rotate into corners in rain or snow.

The handbrake replaces the original one, so that has to come out. It fits the existing holes in the centre tunnel. Because the lever is short, it needs a little more force than a vertical handbrake with a long lever. That is why an extension is included, which you can easily fit and remove: on the track you instantly have a vertical handbrake, while on the road it goes unnoticed.

Fitting and delivery

Remove the original handbrake and bolt this hydraulic handbrake into the existing holes in the tunnel. Please note: the handbrake has no ratchet, so it does not stay engaged on its own. On some trim levels, the plastic inner lining of the tunnel needs to be shortened slightly; nothing of this can be seen from the outside.

You will need brake line fittings with 3/8 and 7/16 UNF threads. These are hard to find at an ordinary car parts shop, but easy to order online. We recommend connecting the handbrake to separate brake calipers, for example with the E46 adapter for additional calipers or the E46 dual caliper brackets. The delivery time is 4 to 7 days.
