The AST Bolt-in Roll Cage Nissan Silvia S13 Hatchback V4 is a full roll cage for the Nissan Silvia S13 with three-door hatchback body, bolted in at six points. This Bolt-in Roll Cage S13 V4 is supplied in sections with FIA sleeve connections and assembled in the car, so it can come out again later.

The difference with the lighter-built bolted range lies in the construction: here AST uses FIA sleeve connections and a heavier build. The V4 is the heaviest bolt-in for the S13, with a V-shaped rear structure and the most tubing of the range.

Installation and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The six base plates are welded to the body, then the cage is assembled in sections and bolted down. So welding is still required, but it is considerably less work than a complete weld-in cage. On a S13 of this age, check beforehand that the mounting areas are free of rust: welding onto corroded panels gives a cage that will not do its job in a crash. Re-tighten the bolted joints after the first drives and regularly after that, because a bolt that has worked loose takes the strength out of the structure. This cage is intended for circuit and competition use; check the regulations of your own motorsport organisation beforehand.

What is the difference with the full roll cage on standard sleeve connections?

Both are bolted in at six points, but this bolt-in range uses FIA sleeve connections and is built heavier.

Is bolt-in as strong as a weld-in cage?

A well-fitted bolt-in is strong, but a weld-in cage spreads the forces over the whole body instead of over six points. With bolt-in you also have to keep checking the bolted joints.

Can I race with a bolt-in cage?

That depends on your class and your motorsport organisation. Some regulations require a weld-in cage. Check this before you order.

Does this cage also fit a PS13 coupé?

No. This cage is designed for the three-door hatchback. The PS13 coupé has a different rear body and gets its own cage from AST, which you will find separately in our shop.
