The BC Racing RM coilover kit E36 True Rear (part number I-30-RM-MA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 3 Series E36 Sedan, Coupe, Convertible and Touring, model years 1992 to 1998, in True Rear version. The spring rate is 6 kg/mm front and 5 kg/mm rear.

The kit is intended for drivers who use their E36 seriously on track days, in hill climbs or in tarmac rallying. True Rear means that the rear becomes a complete strut: the spring sits around the damper, just like at the front. From the factory, the E36 has a separate spring and a separate damper side by side at the rear.

The RM series is BC Racing’s inverted range: the MacPherson front struts have an inverted monotube. The damping is digressive and the dampers are filled with fully synthetic oil with a very high viscosity index.

The spring rate is 6/5 kg/mm and you set the damping in 30 clicks. The ride height is infinitely adjustable via the damper body, and thanks to the True Rear design this is now also possible at the rear.

Fitting and delivery

At the front the complete struts come out, at the rear the separate spring and damper make way for the coilover. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic. Please note: BC Racing specifies that the body shell must be reinforced before fitting a True Rear kit. BC Racing advises periodic greasing of the RM series and recommends it less for road use than the BR, DS, ER or ZX. After setting the height, have the wheel alignment redone, because camber and toe change as well. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If the manufacturer is temporarily out of stock, you can still order and we will keep you informed.
