The DS series is the track-focused coilover kit from BC Racing. It is intended for an RX-7 FD that regularly goes on track and is also driven in a sporty way on the road. The difference from the BR lies in the digressive piston: firm damping at slow body movements, more supple over sharp impacts.
The dampers have a satin chrome damper body and a concave lower lock ring, and you set the ride height independently of the spring preload. With 10 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear, this kit has the same spring rate as the BR kit for the FD, so the difference really is in the damping.
