The BC Racing DS coilover kit Skyline R33 pillowball (part number D-16-DS-DA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the Nissan Skyline R33 GTS and GTS-t with rear-wheel drive (ECR33), Coupe and Sedan, model years 1993 to 1998. The spring rate is 8 kg/mm front and 5 kg/mm rear.

This DS version has a pillowball top mount or camber plate at the front and rubber or the original mounting at the rear. That is what sets it apart from the DS kit with rubber top mounts at the front (D-16-DS-DS) for the same car. The DS series itself is track-focused, with a digressive piston and 30-click damping adjustment, and is intended for the rear-wheel drive R33 GTS and GTS-t.

Fitting and delivery

The kit is vehicle-specific for the rear-wheel drive R33 GTS and replaces the original dampers and springs front and rear. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic. On some cars the pillowball top mount at the front requires a small modification to the upper mounting; if in doubt, contact us. After setting the ride height, have the wheel alignment checked. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock; if BC Racing temporarily has the kit out of stock, you can still order and we will keep you informed.

The D-16-DS-DA is the BC Racing DS version for the Skyline R33 GTS RWD with a pillowball or camber plate at the front; the D-16-DS-DS has rubber top mounts at the front.

Why choose this DS coilover kit Skyline R33 pillowball?

A pillowball top mount uses a ball joint instead of rubber, which gives a more direct connection between the front strut and the body; a rubber top mount, on the other hand, absorbs more vibration. Choose this version if you mainly drive the rear-wheel drive R33 GTS-t in a sporty way and on track. Apart from that, the damper, springs and damping adjustment are the same as on the DS with rubber top mounts.
