With this big brake kit Scirocco 3 355 mm from V-Maxx, the Volkswagen Scirocco III (13) gets 355 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium on the front axle. The kit applies to all versions from 90 to 195 kW with Ø55 mm front shock absorbers.

At a track day or when driving fast on winding roads, what counts above all is that the brakes do not drop off after a series of heavy stops. The aluminium calipers, brackets and bells conduct heat about five times better than steel and the discs have directional cooling channels, so fade sets in much later.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer. The kit is supplied with sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters, and has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 for public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied and follow the tightening torques. The big brake kit Scirocco 3 355 mm is only suitable for cars with original steering knuckles, in this case the steel knuckle with Ø55 mm clamp. Clean the brake kit with mild soap and never with wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Available options: V-Maxx Steelflex brake hoses 620 mm (set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Which V-Maxx kit fits my Scirocco 3?

There are three V-Maxx kits for the Scirocco 3: 20 VW330 04 (330 mm, also for the Golf 5, Golf 6, Jetta and Eos), this big brake kit Scirocco 3 355 mm (20 VW355 10) and the 365 mm kit 20 VW365 10. The 355 mm kit requires wheels of at least 18 inch, the 365 mm kit at least 19 inch.

Does the kit fit every Scirocco III?

No. The car must have Ø55 mm front shock absorbers, a steel steering knuckle with Ø55 mm clamp and original brake discs of at least Ø271 mm at the rear. The kit applies to versions from 90 to 195 kW.

Is the big brake kit Scirocco 3 355 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?

Yes, definitely. A Scirocco with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.

Is it normal for the brake pads to click?

Yes. The brake pads deliberately have 1 to 1.5 mm of play, so they do not seize when hot. As a result, you hear a short click when you change driving direction.
