This big brake kit E46 from V-Maxx replaces the original front brakes of your BMW 3 Series E46 with a complete performance brake kit featuring 330 mm two-piece brake discs and 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium. The kit is ready to fit and comes with all vehicle-specific adapters.

Fitting and delivery

A big brake kit is a safety-critical part: fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied and follow the tightening torques stated in them. The kit only fits cars with original steering knuckles. Never use wheel cleaner on the brake kit, as it attacks the aluminium parts. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Optionally, you can extend the kit with a different caliper colour, steel braided brake hoses, Ferodo brake fluid, a wear indicator or Ferodo DS brake pads. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Does this big brake kit E46 fit behind my wheels?

The big brake kit E46 requires wheels of at least 17 inch. Always check the fitment template (WFC) before you order; in some cases a wheel spacer is required.

Does this kit also fit the E46 M3?

No, this kit is for all E46 versions except the M3. For the E46 M3, V-Maxx offers separate 355 mm and 365 mm kits.

Is it normal for the brake pads to click?

Yes. V-Maxx deliberately gives the pads 1 to 1.5 mm of play in the caliper so they do not seize at high temperatures. As a result, you hear a short click when you change between driving forwards and reversing.

Does V-Maxx also offer a kit for the rear axle?

No, V-Maxx only supplies kits for the front axle. That is also where most of the braking power comes from.
