Description
Volkswagen Tiguan 5N V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 365 mm 6-piston
The big brake kit Tiguan 5N 365 mm is the largest V-Maxx brake kit for the Volkswagen Tiguan I (5N). The front axle gets 365 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium, supplied as a complete kit with V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval.
This version is intended for Tiguan drivers with 19 inch or larger wheels who want the maximum braking performance V-Maxx offers for this car. Because the caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium, the kit cools down quickly after a hard stop, so the braking performance stays the same at the next hard stop. The manufacturer, V-Maxx Autosport, is Dutch; the kit has TÜV approval according to §19.3 and a 2-year warranty.
Key benefits
- Largest disc for the Tiguan I: 365 mm, two-piece and grooved
- Forged aluminium calipers with six pistons per caliper
- Fast cooling: the thermal conductivity of aluminium is about 5 times higher than that of steel
- Cooling channels that run directionally through the disc
- High-carbon steel for the discs, on ultralight floating aluminium bells
- Sport brake pads with TÜV approval included in the kit as standard
- Vehicle-specific adapters for the original rubber brake hoses
- 2-year warranty and TÜV approval according to §19.3
Suitable for
Volkswagen Tiguan I (5N), model years 2007 to 2018
- Volkswagen Tiguan I (5N), 09-2007 to 07-2018, with Ø55 mm front shock absorbers: all versions from 81 to 176 kW
- Only for cars with original rear brake discs of at least Ø271 mm
- Only for cars with a steel knuckle and a Ø55 mm shock absorber clamp
Wheels of at least 19 inch are required. With the fitment template (WFC, Wheel Fitment Chart), you can see in advance whether the caliper clears the wheel; sometimes a wheel spacer is required.

Fitting and delivery
Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied and apply the tightening torques from those instructions. The big brake kit Tiguan 5N 365 mm is intended exclusively for cars with original steering knuckles. For maintenance, use a mild soap, because wheel cleaner attacks the aluminium of the calipers and bells.
You can complement the big brake kit Tiguan 5N 365 mm with V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses (620 mm, set of 2, PTFE inner hose, TÜV), Ferodo Super Formula brake fluid (500 ml) and the V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.
There is no larger V-Maxx brake kit for the Tiguan I: 365 mm discs, six pistons per caliper and TÜV approval for daily use.
Why choose this big brake kit Tiguan 5N 365 mm?
Two things make this kit worthwhile. First, the disc diameter: 365 mm is the maximum V-Maxx supplies for the Tiguan I, resulting in the highest braking torque. Second, heat management. Because the caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium and the disc has directional cooling channels, the kit maintains its braking performance where original brakes start to fade. On top of that, thanks to TÜV, the big brake kit Tiguan 5N 365 mm is approved for use on public roads.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the 355 mm and the 365 mm kit for the Tiguan 5N?
The big brake kit Tiguan 5N 365 mm has a larger disc and therefore more braking torque, but requires wheels of at least 19 inch. The 355 mm version (20 VW355 11) fits from 18 inch. Both kits have 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium and TÜV approval.
Can I also take the Tiguan on the track?
Yes. Thanks to the aluminium parts and the directional cooling channels, the braking performance stays consistent even under repeated hard braking. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.
The brake pads click when reversing, is that a problem?
No. V-Maxx deliberately keeps 1 to 1.5 mm of play between pad and caliper, so the pads do not seize at high temperatures. When you change direction of travel, they shift by a fraction, which produces a short click.
Do I need new brake hoses?
No, the original rubber brake hoses connect to the adapters supplied. If you want steel braided brake hoses, V-Maxx Steelflex hoses with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval are available as an option.
What is the delivery time?
