Description
Volkswagen Tiguan AD V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 365 mm 6-piston
If you want the maximum braking performance for the Volkswagen Tiguan II (AD), this big brake kit Tiguan AD 365 mm is the V-Maxx kit to choose. The front axle gets 365 mm two-piece brake discs, gripped by 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium.
The kit was developed for the Tiguan II with an aluminium knuckle and Ø55 mm shock absorber clamp, for versions from 77 to 228 kW. It is supplied ready to fit, with V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and adapters to which the original rubber brake hoses connect. The manufacturer V-Maxx Autosport from the Netherlands gives a 2-year warranty and supplies the kit with a TÜV certificate according to §19.3.
Key benefits
- 365 mm brake discs: thanks to the larger diameter, more braking torque than the 355 mm kit
- 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium
- Cool under pressure: the aluminium caliper, bracket and bell transfer heat about 5 times faster than steel
- Directional cooling channels and grooved discs made of high-carbon steel
- Floating aluminium bells, ultralight and forming a two-piece assembly with the disc
- TÜV §19.3, so approved for use on public roads
- Complete: sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters are included
- 2-year warranty from V-Maxx Autosport

Fitting and delivery
The kit comes with V-Maxx fitting instructions: fit the kit according to those instructions and observe the tightening torques stated in them. The big brake kit Tiguan AD 365 mm was developed for cars with original steering knuckles. Clean the calipers and bells with a mild soap and never with wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium.
Available as extras: Steelflex brake hoses from V-Maxx (620 mm, set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo Super Formula brake fluid in 500 ml and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. The delivery time is 4 to 7 days.
Behind 19 inch wheels, this 365 mm kit gives the Tiguan II the highest braking torque V-Maxx supplies for this model.
Why choose this big brake kit Tiguan AD 365 mm?
The 365 mm version is the choice for drivers who want no compromise. The larger disc increases the leverage with which the caliper brakes, and with it the braking torque. At the same time, the aluminium construction with directional cooling channels ensures that the kit cools down quickly after every hard stop. This way, the big brake kit Tiguan AD 365 mm maintains its braking performance under repeated hard braking, while the TÜV approval allows daily use on public roads.
Frequently asked questions
Should I choose the 355 mm or the 365 mm kit?
Look at your wheels first. The big brake kit Tiguan AD 365 mm requires at least 19 inch, while the 355 mm kit (20 VW355 12) fits from 18 inch. If you drive on 19 inch or larger, the 365 mm disc delivers the most braking torque. In both cases, check the clearance with the fitment template (WFC).
Is there a V-Maxx kit for the rear axle?
No. V-Maxx only supplies big brake kits for the front axle, which accounts for about 90% of the braking power.
Is it normal for the brake pads to click?
Yes. The pads deliberately sit in the caliper with 1 to 1.5 mm of play, so they do not seize when hot. When you change direction of travel, they shift and you hear a short click.
Is the big brake kit Tiguan AD 365 mm suitable for track days?
Yes. It is precisely under repeated hard braking that the aluminium parts and the directional cooling channels come into their own. If you use the car hard on the track, V-Maxx advises removing the dust seals from the calipers.
