The MTS Street Scirocco 3 Gold is a height-adjustable coilover kit from MTS Technik for the Volkswagen Scirocco 3 / Beetle 5C, model years 2008 to 2019. Street is the standard setup from MTS Technik: a good balance between comfort and firmness, for daily use and the occasional track day or drift day.

On the Gold version, the steel parts have a yellow zinc coating and the aluminium parts are black anodised.

Note for the MTS Street Scirocco 3 Gold: only for cars with a multilink rear axle. Axle load: maximum 1090 kg front and maximum 880 kg rear; check your car’s vehicle type plate.

If the car has Audi Magnetic Ride (AMR), that system must be disabled. A suitable module for this is only available on request.

Fitting and delivery

The MTS Street Scirocco 3 Gold replaces the original dampers and springs and fits on the original mounting points.

• The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
• When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
• Sometimes the rear height adjuster has to be removed to achieve the maximum lowering.
• Tip for adjusting the rear: remove the height adjuster, set the spring seat to the new position and refit the adjuster.
• After fitting the MTS Street Scirocco 3 Gold, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.

What is the difference between Street and Stance?

All versions use the same dampers; the difference lies in the Eibach springs and the lowering range: Street (32 and 27-45 N/mm) and Stance (80 N/mm). Street is the standard. Stance is the firmest and the lowest.

What is the difference between Gold and Inox?

Gold has steel damper bodies with a yellow zinc coating, Inox has stainless steel damper bodies. Inox is more resistant to road salt and moisture and therefore costs more. Otherwise, the kits are identical.
