Description
The MTS Stance E23 Inox is a height-adjustable send-in kit (coilover) from MTS Technik for the BMW E23, model years 1981 to 1988. Stance is the lowest and firmest setup from MTS Technik, for those who want the wheel tight under the wheel arch.
On the Inox version, the damper bodies are made of stainless steel, so road salt and moisture don’t stand a chance. This is a send-in kit: MTS Technik builds the kit with your own original front struts, so you don’t have to weld anything yourself.

Fitting and delivery
MTS Technik builds the MTS Stance E23 Inox with your own original front struts: after receipt they are stripped of their paint, welded to size and zinc-plated.
- The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
- When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
- Sometimes extra original parts are needed for fitting; these are not included in the set.
- Only fits with a rear top mount with an inner diameter of 78 mm (OE 33521117657 or 33521126987). If the car has different top mounts, original top mounts with one of these numbers are required.
- On cars with level control (NIVO), the rear top mounts must be replaced with OE 33521117657 or 33521126987.
- After fitting the MTS Stance E23 Inox, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.
How a send-in kit works
- After your order we will email you the shipping instructions and the address for your original front struts.
- Beforehand, remove all parts from the struts, such as hubs, bearings, cover caps, damper cartridges, bolts and nuts. If the struts arrive not disassembled, or if damage is found (for example broken bolts), they will be sent back or extra costs will be charged.
- Send in the struts in their original paint, even if it looks bad. Do not spray or paint them beforehand; they are stripped, welded and then zinc-plated.
- Because the kit is made to measure with your struts, the right of withdrawal for distance purchases does not apply: a send-in kit cannot be returned.
- This kit is only delivered within the European Union.
The delivery time depends on when your struts arrive. After your order we will keep you updated by email about the dispatch and the expected delivery time.
The MTS Stance E23 Inox combines stainless steel damper bodies, Eibach springs of 80 and 70 N/mm and up to 95 mm of lowering for the BMW E23.
Why choose the MTS Stance E23 Inox?
With the MTS Stance E23 Inox you choose the lowest possible car with direct, firm handling; the stiffer springs keep the body steady, even with a large lowering. If you also drive in winter or the car is parked outside, the Inox version pays for itself: stainless steel doesn’t rust, so the thread of the height adjustment doesn’t seize up. If you mainly drive in summer, the Gold version is a more affordable alternative. With the included camber plates you set the camber, which with a large lowering means less tyre wear and more grip. And because it is a send-in kit, you don’t have to weld anything yourself.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Street and Stance?
All versions use the same dampers; the difference lies in the Eibach springs and the lowering range: Street (70 and 60 N/mm) and Stance (80 and 70 N/mm). Street is the standard. Stance is the firmest and the lowest.
What is the difference between Gold and Inox?
Gold has steel damper bodies with a yellow zinc coating, Inox has stainless steel damper bodies. Inox is more resistant to road salt and moisture and therefore costs more. Otherwise, the kits are identical.
Can I return a send-in kit?
No. Because the kit is made to measure with your own struts, the right of withdrawal for distance purchases does not apply.
How long does delivery take?
The delivery time of the MTS Stance E23 Inox depends on when your struts arrive. After your order we will keep you updated by email about the dispatch and the expected delivery time.
