BMW E36 Compact Rear Strut Brace X-Brace 4-Point

This E36 Compact strut brace is an extended 4-point X-brace for the rear of the BMW E36 Compact. It connects the rear strut towers to each other and continues via an extra link piece to the mounting of the rear differential. This way you also reinforce that mounting point and improve the handling and safety of the car.

The E36 Compact strut brace is made of 40 x 2 mm tube, the type that is also used for roll cages. A logical upgrade for a Compact that is used on track or at drift events.

Installation and delivery

To install the E36 Compact strut brace, you have to drill the mounting holes yourself. Photos are available that show where the brace goes, so that you put the holes in the right place. Mounting bolts are included. First remove the trim in the boot, so that you can get to the strut towers easily.

Use a sharp drill bit, deburr the holes and treat them against rust before you fit the E36 Compact strut brace. Tighten all bolts evenly and check them again after the first drives.

A regular two-point brace only connects the strut towers. This X-brace also takes in the differential mount, so that the load from the rear axle is spread over more points.
