With this big brake kit A1 GB, the second-generation Audi A1 Sportback gets a track-level brake system: 330 mm two-piece brake discs with 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium on the front axle. V-Maxx supplies the kit complete, with sport brake pads and the adapters matched to this car.

The A1 Sportback GB is available in versions from 70 to 147 kW. The more powerful variants in particular demand a lot from the standard brakes at a track day or on a fast mountain road. That is where you notice the difference: the V-Maxx kit holds on to its braking power where original brakes lose braking power due to heat.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer of performance brake systems. This version has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3, so you may use it on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

The kit is supplied ready to fit. Fit it according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions included in the box and observe the specified tightening torques. Please note: the kit only fits cars with original steering knuckles. Use mild soap for cleaning; wheel cleaner attacks the aluminium and is therefore not suitable.

Options for this kit: V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (620 mm, set of 2, PTFE inner hose, with TÜV approval), 500 ml of Ferodo brake fluid, a V-Maxx wear indicator set, the calipers in black, blue or yellow instead of red (RAL 3020) at extra cost, and an extra set of Ferodo FDSR216 DS Performance brake pads without TÜV approval. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Yes. You notice the biggest gain under repeated hard braking, such as on the track: the braking power stays consistent. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

What options are available for this kit?

You can add V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses (620 mm, set of 2), Ferodo brake fluid, a wear indicator set, a different caliper colour or an extra set of Ferodo DS Performance brake pads to the kit. The latter have no TÜV approval.
