Audi A3 8P V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 355 mm 6-piston

The big brake kit A3 8P 355 mm from V-Maxx takes the brakes of the second-generation Audi A3 to a higher level, with 355 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium on the front axle. Compared with the 330 mm kit from V-Maxx, you get a larger disc and two extra pistons per caliper.

This kit is intended for drivers who get the most out of their 8P: powerful versions up to 195 kW (A3) or 147 kW (Sportback and Convertible), frequent track days or a car with more power than standard. Under repeated hard braking, the braking power stays consistent, because the caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium and the discs have directional cooling channels.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer and supplies the kit with a TÜV certificate according to §19.3, so it is also approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied and stick to the tightening torques stated in them. The kit is only suitable for cars with original steering knuckles; on the A3 (8P), this must be a steel knuckle with a Ø55 mm clamp. For cleaning, use a mild soap and no wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Available as options: V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (620 mm, set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Why choose this big brake kit A3 8P 355 mm?

The 355 mm kit is the middle one of the three V-Maxx kits for the A3 8P. It offers a larger disc and more pistons than the 330 mm kit, but already fits behind 18 inch wheels, whereas the 365 mm kit requires 19 inch. That makes it a strong choice for an 8P that regularly goes on track and runs on 18 inch wheels. The kit is complete, TÜV approved and comes with a 2-year warranty.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 355 mm and the 365 mm kit?

Both kits have 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium and the same applications. The big brake kit A3 8P 355 mm (20 AU355 05) fits wheels from 18 inch. The 365 mm kit (20 AU365 05) has a larger disc for even more braking torque and requires wheels of at least 19 inch.

Is the big brake kit A3 8P 355 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?

Yes, definitely. An Audi A3 8P with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.

Is there also a kit for the rear axle?

No, V-Maxx only supplies kits for the front axle. Around 90% of the braking power comes from the front axle.
