Citroën AX V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 290 mm 4-piston

With this big brake kit Citroën AX from V-Maxx, you replace the original front brakes of the AX (ZA) with a complete performance brake kit featuring 290 mm two-piece brake discs and 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium. The kit arrives ready to fit, with V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters to which the original rubber brake hoses connect.

If you use an AX on the track, at a track day or in slalom events, you ask much more of the brakes than in everyday traffic. This kit gives more braking torque on the front axle and stays much more consistent under repeated hard braking, because fade sets in much later.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer and gives a 2-year warranty on the big brake kit Citroën AX. Thanks to the TÜV certificate according to §19.3, the brake kit is also approved for use on public roads: you drive the same AX to the track and back home again.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the big brake kit Citroën AX according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied and follow the tightening torques stated in them. The brake kit is intended for an AX with original steering knuckles. Clean the parts with a mild soap and never with wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

As an option, we supply V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (460 mm, set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Can I use this kit on public roads?

Why do I hear a click when changing direction?

That is normal. V-Maxx deliberately gives the brake pads 1 to 1.5 mm of play in the caliper, so they do not seize at high temperatures. As a result, the pads shift briefly when you switch between driving forwards and reversing.

Does V-Maxx also offer a kit for the rear axle?

No, V-Maxx only supplies kits for the front axle. Around 90% of the braking power comes from the front axle, so that is where a larger brake kit delivers the biggest gain.
