Red LED brake light strip 2.5 metres (150 LEDs, 12V)

A red LED brake light strip behind the rear window is the quickest way to meet the requirement for an additional, clearly visible brake light. Two and a half metres of strip with 150 bright LEDs, which you cut to size and stick to the glass or polycarbonate with the supplied 3M adhesive tape.

On a drift track or circuit, the car behind you is often right up against your bumper. A factory brake light that is half hidden behind a spoiler or a window net is simply not enough. A strip across the full width of the window is visible to everyone, even in rain and dust.

The strip runs on 12V, is fully waterproof and can be cut between any two LED segments. That way you make it exactly as wide as your window and keep the leftover piece for a second car.

Fitting and delivery

Allow half an hour. Degrease the glass or polycarbonate with alcohol, cut the strip to the required length between two segments, stick it on and connect it.

Mind the polarity: the LEDs are polarised and will not light up if you reverse positive and negative. Take the positive feed from the brake light wire and connect the negative to a good earth point. If your car puts a high load on the brake light wire, use a relay. Delivery time 4 to 7 days.

Why choose this brake light strip?

A separate third brake light bar costs more, is heavier and rarely fits neatly on a curved window. This strip follows the shape of your window, weighs next to nothing and costs less than a set of spark plugs. Can I make the strip shorter?

Yes, you cut the red LED brake light strip to the required length between two LED segments. The strip has cutting marks on it.

Is this strip permitted on public roads?

No. This strip is intended for track and competition use. On public roads, national lighting requirements apply, and a separate LED strip does not meet them.

How do I connect it?

To 12V, with the positive taken from the brake light circuit and the negative on a good earth point. Mind the polarity, as the LEDs will not light up if positive and negative are reversed.

Does the adhesive tape hold in the rain?

Yes. The strip is fully waterproof and the 3M tape resists moisture, vibration and heat, provided you degrease the window beforehand.
