Reversed Hydraulic Handbrake Mounting Plate Driver Side

This mounting plate is intended for a reversed hydraulic handbrake, a handbrake mounted the other way round, and places it on the driver side of the centre tunnel. This puts the lever close to your hand and keeps your reaction time as short as possible. The plate is made of 5 mm steel, black, and fits all BMW tunnels.

You usually choose a reversed handbrake when the standard layout does not fit your interior well or when you want the controls arranged differently. This base is made for exactly that layout, with the holes already in the right place.

Installation and delivery

Start by clearing the tunnel: centre console out, carpet to one side. Place the handbrake loosely on the plate, hold the assembly in position and check from the driving position that the lever is comfortable to operate. Then mark the holes, drill them and bolt the plate down with bolts, washers and locking nuts.

Before drilling, check what runs underneath the tunnel. Route the brake lines so that they do not rub anywhere and bleed the system after connecting it. With a reversed hydraulic handbrake, the line often runs differently from a normal layout, so take your time for a tidy route.
