This adjustable shift mechanism is a universal shift rod for BMW manual gearboxes: the connection between the gearbox and the gear lever. Because the rod is long enough for almost any model and any swap, you shorten it to the length your car needs. That way, after an engine or gearbox swap, you once again get a shift that feels tight and precise.

Especially in swap projects, the original rod often no longer fits, for example when a different gearbox sits in the tunnel. Installation and delivery

The adjustable shift mechanism takes the place of the original shift rod between the gearbox and the gear lever. First measure how long it needs to be in your car, with the gear lever in neutral. Then shorten the threaded end, set the clevises at the correct distance and lock everything securely. Deburr the cut end so that the thread stays clean. If you work under the car, always put it safely on axle stands.
