The AST Bolt-in Roll Cage BMW E21 Coupé V2 is a full roll cage for the BMW 3 Series E21 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Bolt-in E21 Coupé V2 is the basic cage extended with front reinforcement bars that continue to the bulkhead, so that the front structure of the small coupé becomes part of the load-bearing structure.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who want more rigidity than the basic version offers and who regularly take their E21 on track or rallying.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. Plan the front bars in advance around your dashboard and wiring, as they run all the way to the bulkhead. The six foot plates are welded to the bodyshell and the structure is then bolted in place. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D so that it fits your car exactly.

With the bars to the bulkhead, the E21 Coupé goes from being a car with a roll cage to a car with a load-bearing frame.

What is the difference from version V1?

This Bolt-in E21 Coupé V2 has the same main hoop and braces as the basic version, plus front reinforcement bars running to the bulkhead. That makes the front structure stiffer.

Is the cage guaranteed to fit my car?

AST digitised the E21 bodyshell with laser scanners and designed the cage in 3D around that scan, including the 3 mm foot plates, which are cut to size. The cage is supplied unpainted, so you can still make adjustments during test-fitting.
