The AST Bolt-in Roll Cage BMW E34 Saloon V1 is a full roll cage for the BMW 5 Series E34 with 4-door saloon bodywork. This Bolt-in E34 Saloon V1 is the entry level of the range: a main hoop with backstays, secured with 6 bolts on 6 foot plates that are welded to the bodyshell.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who are building up their E34 step by step and want to start with a sturdy, correctly mounted base structure.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. Please note: the 6 foot plates are welded to the bodyshell, after which the cage is bolted onto them. Have this welding carried out by a specialist. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that it fits your car exactly.

The E34 is a large saloon with a long roof, which is exactly where you don’t want a cage that almost fits. AST scans the bodyshell and designs every tube to measure, so the main hoop sits snugly against the pillars and the roof. Start with the V1 and you already have the structure that the heavier versions build on.

Does any welding need to be done on the car?

Yes. The six foot plates in 3 mm steel are welded to the bodyshell; only then is the Bolt-in E34 Saloon V1 bolted onto those plates. The welding should be done by an experienced welder.

What exactly will I receive?

The welded structure, divided into sections via connecting sleeves, plus the reinforcement plates, the bolts, washers and nuts, the documentation, the fitting instructions and a sticker set. The cage is supplied unpainted.
