The AST Full Roll Cage BMW E30 Coupé V1 is a full roll cage for the BMW 3 Series E30 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Full roll cage E30 Coupé V1 is the base version with main hoop and braces, and protects both the front and the rear compartment. It is made for the rear-wheel-drive E30; there is a separate range for the all-wheel-drive 325iX.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drifters and track drivers taking the step from a half cage to a full safety structure.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that it fits your car exactly. The six foot plates are welded to the bodyshell; only then is the cage itself bolted onto those plates. Have that welding done by a specialist experienced in safety structures.

A half cage does a lot for the rear, but leaves the driver up front unprotected. This version extends the structure beyond the dashboard and anchors it at six points in the floor pan. That provides not only protection in a crash, but also a noticeably more rigid car in fast corners.

A half cage covers only the rear compartment. The Full Roll Cage E30 Coupé V1 extends into the front section of the interior and sits on six bolting points instead of four, so the driver and front passenger are enclosed as well.

Can I keep my interior?

Partly. The headlining and any sunroof require decisions at the design stage; you can specify these when ordering. Door cards and parts of the trim usually have to make way for the tubes.
