AST Half Roll Cage BMW Z3 Roadster V1

The AST Half Roll Cage BMW Z3 Roadster V1 is a half roll cage for the BMW Z3 with 2-door Roadster bodywork. This half roll cage Z3 Roadster V1 sits behind the seats, protects the rear compartment and leaves the front of the cockpit completely free.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who still use their open-top Z3 on the road but want overhead protection on track days.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The four foot plates are welded to the bodyshell by a specialist, after which the structure is bolted on in one piece. As the cage cannot be split into sections, it goes in through the open cockpit.

The Z3 Roadster has no roof to protect you in a rollover, so a proper hoop behind the seats is the biggest safety gain you can make. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the structure in 3D, so that the four foot plates land on strong points of the floor. Frequently asked questions

Does this roll cage also fit a BMW Z3 Coupé?

No. AST does not make a roll cage for the Z3 Coupé. The half roll cage Z3 Roadster V1 is designed around the open body of the Roadster and does not fit the closed coupé, the so-called ‘clown shoe’.

What exactly will I receive?

You receive the welded structure, the reinforcement plates, all bolts, washers and nuts, the documentation, the fitting instructions and a sticker set. This version is not removable, so no connecting sleeves are included. The cage is supplied unpainted.

Where is the roll cage anchored at the rear?

You specify this when ordering. You choose between anchorage on the original tubes and anchorage in the rear suspension area; AST builds the cage to suit the option you choose.

What is the delivery time?
