Description
AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW 2002 V1
The AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW 2002 V1 is a full roll cage for the BMW 2002 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Multipoint BMW 2002 V1 is the entry-level version of the multipoint range and is welded to the bodyshell at ten points instead of the eight used by the standard weld-in cage.
The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain for drivers who want to turn the classic two-door BMW into a genuinely rigid chassis and are looking for as many attachment points as possible to do so.
Key benefits
- Ten welded mounting points spread the loads over more areas of the bodyshell than a regular weld-in cage.
- More rigid than the standard weld-in version with the same level of bar specification.
- Less fatigue in the sheet metal, because no single welded mounting point carries the full load on its own.
- E355 steel, 45 mm main hoop and 40 mm for the rest of the structure.
- Foot plates in 3 mm steel, custom-designed for each car.
- Complete weld-in kit with gussets, reinforcement plates, mounting hardware, documentation, fitting instructions and a sticker set.
- Supplied unpainted, so you decide on the finish yourself.

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. Two extra welded mounting points also means two more areas that have to be bare metal and dry; allow for some extra preparation time at the welder’s.
Ten welded mounting points instead of eight: the multipoint V1 grips the bodyshell of the BMW 2002 in more places.
Why choose this Multipoint BMW 2002 V1 roll cage?
On a car from the seventies the sheet metal is thinner than on a modern car, so the more points that absorb the load, the better. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so the ten welded mounting points land precisely on the strong sections of the E10.
