The AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E28 Saloon V4 is a full roll cage for the BMW 5 Series E28 with 4-door saloon bodywork. This Multipoint E28 Saloon V4 is the top level of the multipoint range: on top of the door bars and front bars, it adds an extra diagonal brace and a harness bar, all on ten welded mounting points.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for teams turning an E28 from the 1981 to 1988 model years into a fully fledged competition car.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D so that it fits your car exactly. Fix the seat position before the harness bar is welded in for good, because nothing can be changed after that.

Yes, the Multipoint E28 Saloon V4 has a harness bar behind the seats for this purpose. Always have the angle and height of the harness checked against the regulations of the class you compete in.

Is this roll cage FIA-homologated?

AST Roll Cages lists FIA homologation number 5006 for this product. According to AST, this homologation applies to the BMW 528i. If your E28 has a different engine, do not assume that the homologation also applies to your car, and check with your own organiser.
