The AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E46 Coupé ASN FIA is a full roll cage for the BMW E46 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Multipoint E46 ASN is made from 25CrMo4 chromium-molybdenum steel and is permanently welded to the bodyshell at 16 welded mounting points, compared with 10 on the standard multipoint weld-in version.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain in accordance with the FIA homologation regulations, for drivers who want to compete with their E46 Coupé at the highest level. The ASN/FIA documentation for the safety structure must be purchased separately and is not included in the price.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The cage should be welded in by a qualified welder; the supplied welding practice material and weld test piece are there specifically for the mandatory welding qualification. Please also bear in mind that the ASN/FIA documentation for the safety structure is purchased separately and is therefore not included in this price.

What exactly is supplied, and will the cage fit my car?

You receive a weld-in kit containing bent, cut-to-size tubes with their matching joint pieces, reinforcement plates, reinforcing foot plates in 3 mm steel, fitting instructions, welding practice material and a weld test piece. Bolts, washers, nuts, individual documentation and a sticker set are not included with this version. The fit is achieved by AST digitising the bodyshell using a scanning process and developing the cage in 3D for the E46 Coupé.

Why 25CrMo4 instead of E355?

25CrMo4 chromium-molybdenum steel is stronger and lighter than E355 and is used in the top racing classes. This gives you a more rigid structure without adding extra kilos to the car.
