AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan GT-R R35 Coupé V4

The Multipoint R35 V4 is a full roll cage for the Nissan GT-R with the R35 chassis in 2-door coupé bodywork. The difference from the standard weld-in cage lies in the number of welded mounting points: ten instead of eight. As a result, the forces enter the bodyshell at more places and the load per point stays lower.

V4 comes with door bars, an extra diagonal brace in the main hoop and a harness bar for the shoulder straps, on top of the rear structure and the bars to the bulkhead. The rear is anchored at the wheel arch.

For this item too, AST lists homologation number GT1-101, and the manufacturer states that the structure is built to FIA Appendix J, in the version for the Nissan GT-R.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order, with a delivery time of 15 to 35 working days. Ten welded mounting points require more preparation than eight: in some places trim or sound insulation has to come out, and sometimes a panel has to be opened to reach the point. A multipoint cage may require modifications to the interior, so bear that in mind if you still drive with a complete dashboard.

Why choose this Multipoint R35 V4?

The R35 is a heavy car with plenty of grip, so the peak forces on the welded mounting points are higher than on a light coupé. Two extra points spread that load and reduce the risk of the panelwork around a mounting point starting to flex. For a car that runs entire race weekends, that is a sensible investment.
