The AST Removable Half Roll Cage BMW E39 Sedan V2 is a half roll cage for the BMW 5 Series E39 with 4-door saloon bodywork. This removable half cage E39 Sedan V2 is the more heavily built variant within the range and focuses on the rear compartment of the car.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain for drivers who want more structure at the rear than the basic version offers, but want to keep the front of the cabin clear.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. For fitting, four foot plates are welded to the bodyshell, after which the cage is bolted onto them. Remove the rear seats, parcel shelf and trim beforehand and the build will go much more smoothly.

The most substantial removable half roll cage AST designs for the E39 saloon, yet it still comes out of the car in an afternoon.

An E39 used on track works hardest at the rear. This version puts more material into that area than the basic version and spreads the load across four welded foot plates. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that the fit is spot on and nothing has to be forced during fitting.

What is the difference from the V1?

The removable half cage E39 Sedan V2 uses the same principle of four bolting points on four welded foot plates, but contains more tubing. That makes it more rigid and therefore better suited to intensive track and drift use.

What is included in the kit?

You receive the welded structure in sections, connecting sleeves, reinforcement plates, all bolts, washers and nuts, documentation, fitting instructions and a sticker set. The cage is unpainted.

Is this cage approved for competition use?

This product is intended for track and competition use. AST does not specify a homologation number for this E39 product, so check the regulations of your federation or organiser before you compete with it.

What if my car has headlining?

When ordering, please state whether the headlining will stay in your car, and AST will tailor the roll cage accordingly.
