The AST Removable Roll Cage BMW E87 V3 is a full roll cage for the BMW 1 Series E87 with five-door hatchback bodywork. This Removable Roll Cage E87 V3 builds on the V2 and adds door bars, so that the sides of the car are protected as well.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who value side protection but still want to be able to take the cage out of the car.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The six foot plates are welded to the bodyshell, and only then is the cage bolted in place. With this version, think about your seating position in advance, as the door bars run along the door opening.

The V3 adds door bars to the removable cage for the five-door E87 without giving up its removable design.

Why choose this removable roll cage E87 V3?

AST captures the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so the door bars run neatly along the pillars instead of pressing against something. If you want a little more margin at the sides on track or at drift events, the V3 is the right choice. The cage is intended for track and competition use; the regulations of your own organiser always take precedence.

What does the V3 add compared with the V2?

The Removable Roll Cage E87 V3 has door bars, which the V2 does not. Otherwise the layout is the same: six bolting points on welded foot plates and a structure that can be removed from the car via connecting sleeves.

Can this cage also be used in an E81 or E82?

No. It is designed for the five-door E87 from 2004 to 2011. The three-door E81 and the E82 coupé each get their own cage from AST with different dimensions; these versions are not interchangeable.
