The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E30 Sedan AWD V3 is a full roll cage for the BMW E30 with 4-door saloon bodywork, built for the all-wheel-drive E30, the 325iX. This Weld-in E30 Sedan AWD V3 builds on V2 and adds door bars, the point at which the cage also starts to offer real side protection.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, with foot plates and welded mounting points designed for the floor pan of the 325iX rather than that of a standard E30.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The door cards, and often the window mechanism too, have to be modified or removed to fit the door bars. Welding should be carried out by a specialist.

With V3, the door bars go into the 325iX, and the cage moves from pure rigidity to real side protection.

Can I weld this cage into a rear-wheel-drive E30?

No. The Weld-in E30 Sedan AWD V3 is designed for the all-wheel-drive E30, the 325iX. If you drive a rear-wheel-drive E30 saloon, choose the RWD version; the floor sections and the tunnel are different on that car.

Can I keep my door cards?

Usually not entirely. A bar runs through the door area, so the original door card has to be trimmed or replaced with a race panel. This applies to any cage with door bars.
