The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E81 V5 is a full roll cage for the BMW 1 Series E81 with three-door hatchback bodywork. This Weld-in E81 V5 is the highest specification in the range, with the complete set of bars, and is welded to the bodyshell at eight points.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who are building their E81 up as a full competition car and do not want to cut corners on a single bar.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. Because the V5 contains the most tubes, fitting and welding it also takes the most time, so allow for this when planning your workshop time. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that it fits your car exactly.

The V4 has the door bars plus an extra diagonal brace and a harness bar. The weld-in E81 V5 goes one step further with the complete set of bars, the heaviest specification level that AST designs for this model.

How do I know the cage will fit?

AST scans the bodyshell of the three-door E81 with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D from that scan. As a result, it lines up with the existing points on the bodyshell, but it also fits only this body style.
