The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW F20 V4 is a full roll cage for the BMW 1 Series F20 with five-door hatchback bodywork. This Weld-in F20 V4 is supplied as a weld-in kit and welded to the bodyshell at eight points, with door bars plus an extra diagonal brace and harness bar.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who want the most rigid connection to the bodyshell and use the car purely as a competition car.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The kit arrives unpainted and is assembled and welded in place inside the car. This is a job for a specialist workshop: once fitted, the cage cannot be removed without damaging the bodyshell.

Eight welded mounting points turn the cage and the F20 bodyshell into a single structure.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take the cage out again later?

No. The Weld-in F20 V4 is welded to the bodyshell at eight points and is meant to stay in the car permanently. If you want a cage that can be taken out, look at a removable version.

What is included in the kit?

The weld-in kit, gussets, reinforcement plates, bolts, washers and nuts, documentation, fitting instructions and a sticker set. Everything is supplied unpainted so that the welding can be carried out cleanly.

Does this cage fit a three-door F21?

No. AST designs a separate cage for each body style. This one is for the five-door F20; the three-door F21 has its own version, and it is not interchangeable.
