AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW F82 Coupé V4

The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW F82 Coupé V4 is a full roll cage for the BMW F82 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This F82 Coupé V4 weld-in cage is permanently welded to the bodyshell at eight points and is intended for anyone running the car as a dedicated competition car.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drifters and track drivers who put maximum rigidity ahead of ease of removal.

AST does not offer a convertible version for the F82. The G82 is the successor to this model and has its own cage, which is not interchangeable with this one.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. This is a permanent solution: the eight welded mounting points are fixed to the bodyshell and the cage will not come out again. Have the welding done by an experienced professional, and bear in mind that most of the interior has to be removed from the car first.

Eight welded mounting points turn the cage and the bodyshell into a single unit, and you can feel it in the steering response.

AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so the tubes end up in exactly the right places and your welder does not have to improvise. For a car kept permanently in race trim, the weld-in version is both lighter and more rigid than the bolt-in version.

Can I remove this cage later?

No. The F82 Coupé V4 weld-in cage is permanently welded to the bodyshell at eight points. If you want a cage that can be removed again, take a look at the bolt-in version.

Does this cage fit a convertible or a G82?

No. This cage is designed exclusively for the 2-door coupé version of the F82. AST does not offer a convertible version for this model, and its successor, the G82, has its own cage, which is not interchangeable.

How well does the kit fit?

The F82 bodyshell has been digitised with laser scanners and the cage designed on that basis in 3D, so the tube lengths and angles are correct before the kit leaves the workshop.
