The AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Micra K11 5-door Hatchback V4 is a full roll cage for the Nissan Micra K11 with five-door hatchback body, welded to the body at eight points. This Weld-in Roll Cage Micra K11 5-door V4 is supplied as a welding kit and welded into one unit in the car.

A weld-in cage spreads the forces over the whole body instead of over a few bolt points. That makes it stronger than a bolt-in cage, and for many competition classes it is the required version. The V4 builds on the V3 with extra braces, for anyone using the K11 fully in competition.

Installation and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. It comes as a welding kit and is welded into one unit in the car. Leave the welding to someone with experience in roll cages: the included welding test sample is meant to check beforehand that the welding settings are right. On a K11 of this age, check beforehand that the mounting areas are free of rust: welding onto corroded panels gives a cage that will not do its job in a crash. This cage is intended for circuit and competition use; check the regulations of your own motorsport organisation beforehand.

What is the difference with a bolt-in cage?

A bolt-in cage is bolted in on six points and can come out again. This Weld-in Roll Cage Micra K11 5-door V4 is welded in on eight points and is therefore stronger, but stays in the car permanently.

Can I weld the cage in myself?

Only if you have experience welding roll cages. A poor weld takes the strength out of the structure. If in doubt, leave it to a specialist.

Does this cage also fit the three-door Micra?

No. This cage is designed for the five-door. For the three-door K11, AST supplies separate versions, which you will find separately in our shop.
