Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Skyline R32 Coupé V2
The AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Skyline R32 Coupé V2 is a full roll cage for the Nissan Skyline R32 with two-door coupé body, welded to the body at eight points. This Weld-in Roll Cage R32 V2 is supplied as a welding kit and welded into one unit in the car.
Compared to the V1, extra tubing is added and the rear gets a structure in X-design. The crossed diagonals behind the main hoop keep the wheel arches better in place, exactly where an R32 has to put down its torque.
Key benefits
- Rear structure in X-design: crossed diagonals for a noticeably stiffer rear.
- More tubing than the V1: a stiffer structure along the full length.
- Eight weld points: the cage is welded to the body in eight places.
- Anchored at the rear: to the rear suspension area.
- Gussets included: to reinforce the joints.
- E355 steel: 45 mm diameter main hoop, 40 mm for the rest of the structure.
- Custom base plates: 3 mm thick steel, designed per car rather than universal.
- Complete kit: supplied unpainted with fixings, documentation, installation manual, sticker set and welding test sample.

Installation and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. It comes as a welding kit and is welded into one unit in the car. Expect more welding than with the V1, because there is more tubing to fit in the car. Leave the welding to someone with experience in roll cages and use the included welding test sample to check the settings beforehand. On an R32, also check the mounting areas for rust, especially around the rear wheel arches. This cage is intended for circuit and competition use; check the regulations of your own motorsport organisation beforehand.
Eight weld points plus a rear structure in X-design: the weld-in basis with a noticeably stiffer rear.
Why choose this Weld-in Roll Cage R32 V2?
The V2 is the choice for anyone who wants a weld-in cage that also makes the car genuinely stiffer. The X-design at the rear ties the wheel arches together, and you feel that when exiting a corner and in fast transitions.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference with the Weld-in V1?
The Weld-in Roll Cage R32 V2 has extra tubing and a rear structure in X-design. The number of weld points stays at eight.
Can I weld the cage in myself?
Only if you have experience welding roll cages. A poor weld takes the strength out of the structure. If in doubt, leave it to a specialist.
Does it fit a GT-R?
Yes, as long as it is a coupé. The cage sits in the interior and has nothing to do with the four-wheel drive.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days, because AST builds every cage to order.
