Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Skyline R32 Coupé V5
The AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Skyline R32 Coupé V5 is a full roll cage and the most complete cage of the weld-in range for the Nissan Skyline R32 with two-door coupé body, welded to the body at eight points. This Weld-in Roll Cage R32 V5 is supplied as a welding kit and welded into one unit in the car.
Compared to the V4, more tubing is added once again, on the same rear structure in V-design. This is the end point of the regular weld-in range; you only get more anchoring with a multipoint cage.
Key benefits
- Most complete of the weld-in range: the most tubing of the five versions.
- Rear structure in V-design: braces in a V to the rear mounting points.
- Eight weld points: the cage is welded to the body in eight places.
- Anchored at the rear: to the rear suspension area.
- Gussets included: to reinforce the joints.
- E355 steel: 45 mm diameter main hoop, 40 mm for the rest of the structure.
- Custom base plates: 3 mm thick steel, designed per car rather than universal.
- Complete kit: supplied unpainted with fixings, documentation, installation manual, sticker set and welding test sample.

Installation and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. This is the most extensive welding kit of the range, so allow the most time for it too. Work from the outside in: first the main hoop and the rear anchoring, then the front bars, and only after that the extra tubing. Leave the welding to someone with experience in roll cages and use the included welding test sample to check the settings beforehand. On an R32, also check the mounting areas for rust, especially around the rear wheel arches. This cage is intended for circuit and competition use; check the regulations of your own motorsport organisation beforehand.
The maximum of the weld-in range on eight points: for an R32 that is being built into a real race car.
Why choose this Weld-in Roll Cage R32 V5?
The V5 is for anyone building the R32 into a full race car who wants the maximum from the regular weld-in range. The extra tubing makes the body stiffer from front to rear and gives the most protection you can get on eight weld points.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference with the Weld-in V4?
The Weld-in Roll Cage R32 V5 has extra tubing on the same rear structure in V-design. The number of weld points stays at eight.
What is the difference with a multipoint cage?
A multipoint cage is welded in on ten points instead of eight, and therefore spreads the forces even better over the body.
Does it fit a GT-R?
Yes, as long as it is a coupé. The cage sits in the interior and has nothing to do with the four-wheel drive.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days, because AST builds every cage to order.
