The BC Racing ER coilover kit M3 E92 (part number I-39-ER) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW M3 E90 and E92 without EDC, model years 2006 to 2013. The spring rate is 8 kg/mm front and 16 kg/mm rear.

With the ER, BC Racing supplies a 2-way coilover kit with external reservoir for serious track and competition use. For the M3 E90 and E92 without EDC, the springs are 8 kg/mm front and 16 kg/mm rear.

Compression and rebound each have 30 clicks and you adjust them independently of each other. The monotube damper with dual piston works digressively and is filled with fully synthetic oil with a very high viscosity index.

Fitting and delivery

The kit is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic, also for placing the reservoirs. According to BC Racing UK, a plug-in kit may be needed with this version to prevent an error message; feel free to ask us for advice. After setting the height, have the wheel alignment set again. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If BC Racing does not have the kit in stock, you can still order and we will keep you informed.

What is the difference between the BC Racing ER and ZR coilover kits for the BMW M3 E92 without EDC?

The ER is 2-way adjustable, the ZR 3-way; for the M3 without EDC, both have springs of 8/16 kg/mm and an external reservoir. The ZR also has separate low-speed and high-speed compression, is made for competitive motorsport and, according to BC Racing, requires periodic greasing. The ER coilover kit M3 E92 is intended for serious track and competition use.

Which BC Racing ER kit do I need for my M3 E90/E92: I-39 or I-13?

Without EDC it is this I-39-ER, with EDC the I-13-ER. The I-13-ER has springs of 8/14 kg/mm and, according to BC Racing, requires an EDC delete kit, which BC Racing does not sell. Whether your M3 has EDC can usually be seen from the EDC button on the centre console; if in doubt, contact us.

Does the BC Racing ER coilover kit I-39 also fit the M3 Convertible E93?

No. The I-39-ER is released for the M3 E90 Sedan and the M3 E92 Coupe without EDC. For the M3 Convertible E93, BC Racing has separate kits.
