Description
The MTS Street E24 Inox is a height-adjustable weld-in insert kit (coilover) from MTS Technik for the BMW E24, model years 1975 to 1982. Street is the standard setup from MTS Technik: a good balance between comfort and firmness.
On the Inox version, the damper bodies are made of stainless steel, so road salt and moisture don’t stand a chance. This is a weld-in insert kit: the original front struts are shortened and welded.

Fitting and delivery
To fit the MTS Street E24 Inox, the original front struts are shortened and welded as described in the manual. Have this done by an experienced mechanic or welder.
- The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
- When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
- Sometimes extra original parts are needed for fitting; these are not included in the set.
- Only fits with a rear top mount with an inner diameter of 78 mm (OE 33521117657 or 33521126987). If the car has different top mounts, original top mounts with one of these numbers are required.
- On cars with level control (NIVO), the rear top mounts must be replaced with OE 33521117657 or 33521126987.
- After fitting the MTS Street E24 Inox, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.
Delivery: 4 to 7 working days while manufacturer stock lasts.
The MTS Street E24 Inox combines stainless steel damper bodies, Eibach springs of 70 and 60 N/mm and up to 100 mm of lowering for the BMW E24.
Why choose the MTS Street E24 Inox?
With the MTS Street E24 Inox you choose the setup MTS Technik itself recommends as standard: enough lowering for a tight stance, and a character that doesn’t become tiring on the road. If you also drive in winter or the car is parked outside, the Inox version pays for itself: stainless steel doesn’t rust, so the thread of the height adjustment doesn’t seize up. If you mainly drive in summer, the Gold version is a more affordable alternative. With the included camber plates you set the camber, which with a large lowering means less tyre wear and more grip.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Street and Stance?
All versions use the same dampers; the difference lies in the Eibach springs and the lowering range: Street (70 and 60 N/mm) and Stance (80 and 70 N/mm). Street is the standard. Stance is the firmest and the lowest.
What is the difference between Gold and Inox?
Gold has steel damper bodies with a yellow zinc coating, Inox has stainless steel damper bodies. Inox is more resistant to road salt and moisture and therefore costs more. Otherwise, the kits are identical.
Do the struts really have to be welded?
Yes. With this weld-in insert kit, your original struts are shortened and welded as described in the manual. If you don’t want to weld yourself, check whether a send-in kit exists for your car: with that, MTS Technik does the welding.
How long does delivery take?
The MTS Street E24 Inox is delivered within 4 to 7 working days as long as the manufacturer has stock.
