Description
BMW E36 M3 True Rear (92-99) BC Racing RM coilover kit 6/6 kg/mm
The BC Racing RM coilover kit E36 M3 True Rear (part number I-120-RM-MA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW E36 M3, model years 1992 to 1999, in True Rear version. The spring rate is 6 kg/mm front and 6 kg/mm rear.
The kit is made for M3 drivers who take track days, hill climbs or tarmac rally seriously, and turns the rear into a complete strut: the spring sits around the damper, whereas the M3 has a separate spring and a separate damper at the rear from the factory.
At the front, BC Racing uses an inverted monotube on the MacPherson struts in the RM series. The damping is digressive and is provided by fully synthetic oil with a very high viscosity index. Camber plates come as standard with suitable kits.
With 6/6 kg/mm the spring ratio is the same front and rear, and you adjust the damping in 30 clicks. The ride height is infinitely adjustable via the damper body, all round.
Key benefits
- Inverted front struts: the RM design on the MacPherson front end of the M3.
- Complete strut at the rear: goodbye to the separate spring and damper from the factory.
- Digressively tuned: a calm body, wheels that keep following the road.
- 30 clicks: adjust compression and rebound in one action.
- Synthetic oil with a very high viscosity index: stable character, even after a few fast laps.
- Camber plates as standard: supplied with suitable kits.
- Spring rate 6/6 kg/mm: evenly split for the True Rear setup.
- Rebuildable: maintenance and rebuilding remain possible.

Fitting and delivery
The kit is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs; the separate springs and dampers at the rear make way for the coilovers. Please note: BC Racing specifies that the body shell must be reinforced before fitting a True Rear kit. After setting the height, a new wheel alignment is required, because camber and toe change with it. BC Racing advises periodic greasing of the RM series and recommends it less for road use than the BR, DS, ER or ZX. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. No stock at the manufacturer? You can still order, and we will keep you informed.
Inverted at the front, a complete strut at the rear: the RM turns the E36 M3 into a car you can set up all round for the rally stage and the circuit.
Why choose this RM coilover kit E36 M3 True Rear?
An M3 that works hard on the circuit or during a hill climb deserves suspension that is just as serious. The RM combines the inverted design with digressive damping, and thanks to True Rear you adjust the rear just as precisely as the front.

Frequently asked questions
What does the BC Racing RM True Rear change on my E36 M3?
With True Rear the separate spring and separate damper at the rear disappear and are replaced by a complete strut with the spring around the damper. The standard RM for the M3 (I-26-RM-MA) keeps the separate layout and has 8/10 kg/mm.
BC Racing RM or HM for the E36 M3, which should I choose?
Choose the RM if you want an inverted kit without reservoirs; then this RM coilover kit E36 M3 True Rear is the logical choice. The RM is 1-way adjustable with 30 clicks; the HM adds external reservoirs and separate compression and rebound adjustment.
Is noise covered by the warranty of the BC Racing RM coilover kit for the E36 M3?
No, noise from track use is not covered by the warranty on the RM series. There is a 1 year warranty on manufacturing defects.
What is the delivery time of this BC Racing RM coilover kit?
The delivery time is normally 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If it is temporarily sold out, you can still order it and we will let you know the expected date.
