This adjustable shift rod is the V2 shift rod for BMW, the link between the shifter and the gearbox. The rod is adjustable in length from 205 to 295 mm and makes shifting noticeably more precise. Thanks to that length, it fits virtually every model and almost every swap.

If you put a different gearbox or engine in your BMW, you often find that the original shift rod no longer fits. This V2 version is bearing-mounted for smooth operation and can be lengthened or shortened, so you can match it exactly to your combination.

Installation and delivery

The rod replaces the original link between the shifter and the gearbox. Measure the required length, lengthen or shorten the rod to that length and then screw it tight again. Please note: the pivot piece and the threaded rod are not part of the delivery; you need them separately.

After adjusting, check that all gears and reverse engage fully. Tighten the bolts properly and check them again after the first few drives. Lightly lubricate the pivot points so the adjustable shift rod keeps working smoothly.
