Description
AST Bolt-in Roll Cage Nissan 350Z Z33 Coupé V4
The Bolt-in 350Z V4 is a full roll cage for the Nissan 350Z with the Z33 chassis and 3-door Coupé bodywork, and the highest Bolt-in level that AST designs for this car. On top of the V3 package, it adds an extra diagonal brace in the main hoop and a harness bar behind the seats.
That harness bar is more than an extra tube: it gives the shoulder straps of your harness a fixed mounting point at the correct height, something many motorsport regulations require.
The structure is bolted at six points onto base plates that are welded to the bodyshell, and it is assembled in sections using FIA-type sleeve joints.
Key benefits
- Harness bar behind the seats for a correct shoulder strap mounting point.
- Extra diagonal brace in the main hoop, on top of the V3 layout.
- Door bars in both doors for protection in side contact.
- Six bolting points on six welded 3 mm steel foot plates.
- FIA-type sleeve joints, so it can be assembled and dismantled in sections.
- 45 mm main hoop in E355 steel, the other tubes in 40 mm.
- Fully custom-designed for the Z33, following a laser scan of the bodyshell.
- Supplied unpainted, including reinforcement plates, mounting hardware and instructions.

Fitting and delivery
Every cage is built to order; the delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The six base plates are welded to the bodyshell and the structure is then bolted onto those plates. When planning, take into account the position of the harness bar relative to your seats: ideally, fit the seats before the cage is finally fitted, so that the harness angle is correct. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D.
A complete competition package with a harness bar, yet still a cage you can take out of the car in sections.
Why choose this Bolt-in 350Z V4?
As soon as you drive with a proper racing harness, the angle of the shoulder straps is no longer a detail but a safety issue. A separate harness bar that you clamp in somewhere yourself is no match for a bar that forms part of the cage. This V4 comes with that bar from the factory, together with the diagonal that braces the main hoop against torsion. For anyone building the Z33 into a fully fledged competition car while keeping the cage removable, this is the complete package.
Frequently asked questions
What does V4 add compared with V3?
This Bolt-in 350Z V4 has an extra diagonal brace in the main hoop and a harness bar behind the seats. V3 stops at the main hoop, the backstays, the front reinforcement bars and the door bars.
Can I attach my harness to the cage?
The harness bar is the designated mounting point for exactly that. Always follow the harness manufacturer’s instructions and your organiser’s regulations for the permitted angles.
Is any welding required?
Yes. The six foot plates are welded to the bodyshell; only the cage itself is then bolted in.
Does the cage fit a car with headlining?
No. This version is designed for a roof without a sunroof and without headlining.
Is this roll cage homologated?
AST does not state a homologation number for this item. The cage is intended for track and competition use; always check your own organiser’s regulations before you enter an event.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days.
